Here is a photos gallery of Firefly 9M-FYF ATR72-212A Turboprop Jet. The four images were snapped when the aircraft landed and slowed down on the tarmac of Penang International Airport at 7pm on April 2, 2010.

Based on the arrival timeline of Penang Airport, this Firefly ATR72-212A 9M-FYF Turboprop Jet could be as Flight FY 1017 flying in to the island from Langkawi. Firefly’s FY 1017 code-shares with its parent company Malaysia Airlines’ MH9905.

Here are four photos of Malaysia Airlines(MAS)’ 9M-MPR Boeing 737-4H6 aircraft. The images, I now released them under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license, were photographed at Penang International Airport back on April 2, 2010 when the jet headed from the taxiway to runway for a take-off possibly en route to Kuala Lumpur.

MAS Boeing 737-4H6 9M-MMY was in service since 1993 and remained as one of Malaysia Airlines’ fleet members in the past 16+ years. According to Aviation Safety Network, the passenger jet had a non-fatal accident on the ground at Kuching Airport in Oct, 2009. It sustained substantial damage for its No. 1 engine when the left wing was hit by the collapsed port main undercarriage while the aircraft was parked at a gate. (more…)

Firefly, a no-frill airline, is a full subsidiary of Malaysia’s flagship carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS). It offers short point-to-point flights and has claimed to be the first community airline in Malaysia.

Based on the timeline, the aircraft photographed here could be on a duty as Flight FY2903 (codesharing with MAS’s MH9887) to Kuala Lumpur’s Subang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.
