Barbara Walters’ Heart Surgery Very Successful!

Legendary host Barbara Walters had a very successful heart valve surgery, according to a report.  Barbara Walters now is “recovering as expected” from the operation that replaced her faulty valve,  People reported on Friday.

“[Walters'] surgery went well and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome,” her rep was quoted by the mag as saying.

Barbara Walters, 80, is one of four ABC’s The View co-hosts. On Monday’s show, Ms. Walters revealed she had an ailing heart valve and needed to take some time off to have her heart repaired.

She went under the knife on Wednesday is expected to make a full recovery within one to three months.

Barbara Walters revealed Monday she is to have a heart valve surgery. Barbara Walters heart valve surgery will be performed within this week in New York.

Ms. Walters, 80, the veteran co-host of The View, knew her faulty heart valve condition after an echocardiogram some time ago but only decided to go public on her show today (May 10) because she thought the summer was right time for the surgery.

“Later this week, I’m going to have surgery to replace one faulty heart valve,” she said. “Since the summer is coming up, I can take a nice vacation.”

Hosts from Malaysia’s 8TV like Li Yi Lin, Li Xin Yi, Wang Jing Yi, Gary Yap and some their colleagues were on a roadshow in Penang on 23 Jan, 2010 to wish a very auspicious Chinese Lunar New Year for Penangites. During the 2-hour program in Gurney Plaza, the hosts introduced the scheduled airtimes of the upcoming programs they respectively were responsible for during the CNY. Of course, they also showed their talents by singing songs, playing funny games with fans, and presented mandarins to those who were there on the site.
